The Manifest Presence of God
“…they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.” -Acts 2:1-2
There are at least three descriptions of the presence of God. He is omnipresent. “Omni” means everywhere at the same time. Jeremiah 23:23-24. There is also the indwelling presence of God…the interactive awareness of God’s presence in the life of the believer. Romans 8:16. But there is a type of His presence that distinguishes the gathering of the church different than any gathering in the world and that is God’s manifest presence.
The manifest presence of God is God showing up in the midst of His people. It is an undeniable, collective experience that provokes a unified response of worship and adoration. There are levels of His glory and manifestation; yet, when He comes, everyone knows it and everything changes. There seem to be two conditions to His manifest presence. First, there has to be a people in one accord who are hungry for Him. Secondly, there needs to be a people who will wait and not hurry or limit Him by an agenda or the clock.

Proclamations and Prayer
“Father, in the name of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit I pray that the church will be filled with the spirit of unity and stirred with hunger for You. It is Your presence that makes the difference, not our programs or agenda. Tear down all the walls of limitation. Raise up leaders in the church who will not settle for anything less than Your glory filling the church. In Jesus’ name, Amen!Download the full Prayer Guide for Day 12
