“..while He prayed, the heaven was opened. 22 And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.” -Luke 3:21-22
This scene recorded in Luke at the beginning of Jesus public ministry, is a model of what God wants to do for us individually and in the church today. Three significant things happened: 1. The heavens opened. 2. The Holy Spirit descended. 3. The voice of the Father affirmed His love and pleasure for the Son. (Just a side note. The affirmation of the Father to the Son happened before Jesus ever preach a message, healed the sick, cast out demons or endured the horrors of the cross.)
Revival in the church is a mighty manifestation of the presence and power of God that changes lives and impacts cities and regions. It happens in a similar pattern to what occurred at Jesus baptism. There in the midst of a praying church, the power and the manifest presence of God descends in the midst of His people. Things happen suddenly. Signs and wonders mark the gatherings. The voice of the God through His Word is heard and revered. However, the distinguishing mark and characteristic of a revived church, is it gathers under an open heaven.

Proclamations and Prayer
“Father, in the name of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit I pray today for the church to fulfill the conditions necessary to live under an open heaven. Revive and awaken your church with Holy passion for the Son. Let an outpouring of Your manifest presence and power baptize Your church in America like You did on the Day of Pentecost. In Jesus’ name, Amen!Download the full Prayer Guide for Day 15
