We Have Turned Away
“But your iniquities have separated you from your God, and your sins have hidden [his] face from you, so that he will not hear.” –Isaiah 59:2
America is in crisis. The nation is bitterly divided. Racial tensions simmer below the surface. Threats of terrorism are on everyone’s mind as they go to public places. Violence is no longer just a big city issue but a nationwide epidemic. Moral decline championed in the media has shaped the values of a whole generation who are calling “evil good, and good evil.” Isa 5:20 Our national debt is spiraling out of control. America can protect herself from an outside invasion with the largest military in the world, but can she stop the implosion that is happening in her heart?
We have turned from God. He is no longer welcomed in our government or in our education system. The media mocks Him and ridicules those who love Him. Pastors and Christian leaders have been marginalized as irrelevant and their voices silenced by secularists screaming separation of church and state. We have made unrighteous laws that promote hedonism in the name of personal liberty, and it is leading our nation into a state of anarchy.
Billy Graham spoke truth when he said, “More and more my heart aches for America. The wonderful news is that our Lord is a God of mercy, and He responds to repentance. In Jonah’s day, Nineveh was the lone, world superpower—wealthy, unconcerned, and self-centered. When the prophet Jonah finally traveled to Nineveh and proclaimed God’s warning, people heard and repented.” -Billy Graham

Proclamations and Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit I pray the prayer of Nehemiah who cried out for his nation, “We have acted very corruptly against You” and have not regarded You or kept Your word.
